A sweet picture of Owen taken by our family photographer, Grandma B (aka Nema). What's going on in that cute head of his? This photo is also good reminder for this Type A-ish Mommy to just slow down and enjoy Owen's curiosity and enthusiasm for practically everything!

Staff
I have worked for some interesting characters over the years. You'd think that keeping up with the demands of politicians and physicians in political positions would have prepared me for the rigors of motherhood. No such luck. I am currently staff to a tyrannical toddler. The pay is terrible, the hours are long and you hardly get any vacation time. It's a good thing that he's so damn cute!
Steve is on staff as well and he and Owen are on a first name basis. As in, "Steve. Tunnel." Yes, sir...
Our boss is most demanding when it comes to food. Just this morning he looked at me, pointed to the kitchen and said, "More!" I am told that he is very polite at day care and always says, "more, please." I guess manners fly out the window when you're trying to show your staff who's in charge. I get it, you own me!
But as any good staffer knows, when the boss is happy, everyone is happy. And my little dictator likes waffles!
And Steve...
And evidently licking windows?!? This did not happen on my watch, by the way.

A Place for Everything
An angry mob, perhaps?
Owen's even getting his trucks, choo-choos and his pal Syd in on the action. We're not sure if we should be impressed or a bit concerned of potential anal retentive tendencies? TBD...

Miracle
No, the image of Elvis did not appear on my toast this morning. Too bad. That would have been awesome, right? But this, my friends, is almost as monumental.
January 9, 2014, one month shy of Owen's 2nd birthday. I dropped him off at daycare and he did not cry. After nearly five months of HYSTERICS not even one tear rolled down his chubby little cheek. Way to go, Owen!

Smart Cookie
One of my distinct memories from childhood is eating animal crackers while grocery shopping. For those of you who know me well, it won't come as any surprise that my earliest memories are food related. Sadly (or perhaps fortunately), I don't think that Owen shares my fondness for eating.
I now understand why my Mom would make a beeline for the cookie aisle as soon as we got to the grocery store. She's one smart cookie! My mistake was waiting until checkout and making an impulse purchase; the result of being frazzled from whining. You can't tell from the contented look on his face but our very own Chicken Little really has "the sky is falling" thing down.
Is it even possible that I was ever so aggravating? Mom, you don't have to answer.

Better Late than Never
I'm a little behind but I finally got around to making a photo book for 2012.
